“Virtuosity and the Air Squat”

Developing and maintaining a “mature” air squat is a powerful tool in your arsenal of badassery. If you train the squat with full depth and a vertical chest, you’ll start working your core and build up those muscles that are often neglected. You’ll feel more comfortable with weight in the front rack and overhead.

A mature squat requires strength, flexibility and coordination. We also started out with a pretty good squat (watch any toddler), but have spent the past few decades untraining it. The good new is, you can get there again, it’s just going to take consistent practice and a few daily drills.
